Sound /T/ - Week 11 (Scroll down to see all the activities)
/T/ is for train
The letter of the week was ‘T t’, sound /t/ as in train, table, tree, tiger, turtle. Making a train was a real hit, we use it for counting in Maths now as well. Choo-Choo! More photos coming soon!
/T/ is for toast
/T/ for toast! With strawberry jam on top, yummy. We looked at a toaster (another /t/ word) and how it gets very hot when it is on. We waited a little to let the toasts to cool down before we could it them. And then… everybody wanted another one, and again, until we ran out of bread and had to cut the last slice into tiny bits to share. It felt really nice to be able to share too!
/T/ out of dough
We had a go at making /T/ out of dough. Good fun as always, followed by creative play dough art lesson!
Blue play dough and straws to make /T/
We also added blue food colouring to make blue dough and used it to have more fun with creating /T/ out of straws.
Bobby thought of his own way to lay out the straws which ended up in even better /T/ which some of the children wanted to try out too.
Ema arranged the straws to make /E/ for Ema.
Fun with /T/ on the interactive whiteboard
To provide more practice with sound /T/ children had a go at tracing letter /T/ on the interactive whiteboard using some fancy lines.
