Beans!
As we were preparing to take part in the Jack and the Beanstalk primary production, we decided to add dry beans to our sensory activities. We saw that the beans can be different colours, shapes and sizes.
We mixed up all the beans and let the children explore by looking, touching and smelling. Later on we added plastic cups and spoons and immediately they pretended it was bean ice cream. They enjoyed their play immensely!
Beans and beads!
This time we added five beads into each tray with the beans. Children had to find and put them into a little cup. It sounds easy but it was not as the beads were almost the same colour as the beans!
More fun with beans. Let's add some toys!
Children were allowed to add some toys to their trays with beans. It was amazing to see how creative they were pretending to have some bean delivery in the little toy trucks or feeding the beans to the little toy people.
Tidy up time!
Well, sensory activities can get quite messy. As soon as some beans were dropped on the floor not by accident but for fun, we stopped the activity... Just to discover that one of the helper's trays with the beans fell on the floor! =) It took us just few minutes to clean up, 3 year olds move very fast!
