Chinese dragon craft - Term 2, Week 4
The children were surprised to learn that the dragon in the Chinese culture is kind and protective of the family. They looked at some photos of Chinese dragon dance and noticed that they were very bright and colourful. We then set off making our own Chinese dragons that we were going to display outside the door to guard our classroom from the evil spirit.
The children were already familiar with the fan making technique that we used for making Chinese lanterns and fans few days before. They managed to colour in the dragon head, fold the body parts and add the strips of colourful tissue paper for the tail in no time.
