Snake Craft - Term 2, Week 4
It is no secret that the year 2013 is a year of a snake according to Chinese Zodiac system. The children learned that the snake was one of the 12 animals that took part in the swimming competition in the traditional Chinese New Year story. Most of the children said they didn't like snakes but we reminded them that we could make them really colourful and friendly looking.
Making a paper snake required some good hand and eye coordination to link the circles of paper into a long chain of the snake's body. Then we simply added the head and the tail and the snakes were ready! It was good fun wriggling the long snake's body in our hands. Come and have a look at our colourful snakes displayed outside the Nursery classroom window.
